The mission of the Water Mill
Museum is to preserve the historic water-powered grist mill,
that has existed on Mill Creek in Water Mill since 1644, the
other buildings at the site, the museum collection, and to
inform the public about the history of the mill, the history
of the hamlet of Water Mill and the hamlet's cultural,
natural, and agricultural heritage.
To that end, the Executive Board
of the museum is continuing to repair its buildings has
planned new gallery shows, and is creating a new permanent
agricultural exhibit.
We invite you to join the museum
and take advantage of your free admission to visit this
unique site that is listed as a federal, state, and town
designated historic landmark.
Other membership benefits include
a 10% discount on gift table items and participation in the
annual members art exhibit.
All monies raised from membership
and the quilt raffle tickets are used to keep the mill open
and support its mission. The museum is an incorporated
not-for-profit organization registered with federal and
state tax agencies. All donations are fully tax exempt as
allowed under the law.
