This year’s raffle quilt features a colorful antique Double Wedding Ring design. Both hand-sewn and hand-quilted with a muslin backing, the quilt reflects a pattern that has long symbolized love and unity. The challenging design became especially popular in the 1920s and continues to showcase the artistry, skill and tradition of quilting.

A Water Mill Tradition

The Quilt Show & Sale has a special place in Water Mill Museum’s history. More than 50 years ago, the women of Water Mill created a Water Mill-themed quilt and raffled it to raise money to preserve the historic mill and transform it into a museum. The funds raised helped provide the seed money from which the Museum grew. The original quilt was later gifted back to the Museum and remains part of the collection for visitors to see today.
